Tensile Testing

Testing range:

Full penetration butt weld

The transverse tensile test and the test sample of butt joint should comply with GB/T2651 requirements.

For pipe diameter is greater than 50mm, the excess should be removed on both sides of the weld metal, so that the thickness of test sample and wall thickness are the same.

For pipe diameter is less than or equal to 50mm, when using the whole cross section of the smaller pipe, the weld reinforcement inside surface of the pipe is allowed to be kept.

Unless there are other stipulations prior to the test, the tensile strength of the sample is not lower than the lower limit of the base metal
